Farrow & Ball Hague Blue Hand Painted Bobbin Frame with Mount

Our signature bobbin frame is made to order by us and hand painted in the deep Farrow & Ball Hague Blue, and shown here paired with our Saxe Blue Mount. 

The Frame

Our frames are hand hand made in our West Sussex workshop using a natural unfinished wood moulding.   The moulding is a 22mm wide and the bobbins 20mm wide, giving it a statement profile.  The bobbins are hand glued on to the frame and dependent upon the size of the frame will depend on the spacing of the bobbins - each one is unique!   This moulding is suited to larger sizes or smaller sizes, if you are looking for a chunky type frame. 

The Colour

We use Farrow & Ball Hague Blue on this frame which is a described as a rich, deep, and dramatic dark blue with strong green undertones.

We use modern eggshell which has a 40% mid-sheen satin gloss level, giving a more sophisticated subtle sheen.    Each frame is given three coats of paint by hand to ensure a deep even cover but allowing the natural texture and grain of the wood show through. 

The Mount 

We have paired this frame with our saxe blue mount (option number 37) which we think compliments the frame perfectly.   Our mounts are professionally cut to order and have 45 degree bevel edge with a white core.  For a wide range of mount colour options please see our custom listing.

Sizing & Customisation 

We have made our sizing as simple as possible, the "to fit" size will be the same as your artwork or photo.   The mount has approximately 1 inch shown all around but please note that dependent upon size, the borders can be uneven for example A4 fit A5.  

We will cut the mount 2mm smaller than the "to fit" size to ensure you can secure your art to the back of the mount and it doesn't fall through the aperture!

Glazing 

We offer glass or pespex glazing however, due to carrier restrictions we can only offer glass up to 30xx40cm / A3 / 12x16 inches.  Anything over this size will be perspex.  Our frames with perspex will arrive with protective covers on both sides of the perspex to protect it in transit.   Simply remove these when fitting your artwork in your frame. 

Hanging 

All our frames come with hanging clip and frames smaller than 30x40cm/A3/16x12 inches will also come with a metal strut back, for table top display.
